“Bluefield thinking set to make waves”. So ran the headline about Axiom’s new client, Bellway plc, in the Financial Times. And it’s a headline that could equally apply to Axiom’s approach to property and house-building.
At a time when brownfield and greenfield stories abounded, we came up with the phrase ‘bluefield’ to apply to a major project on land reclaimed from the sea: it wasn’t just ‘another development’ but an example of real innovation. And our campaign went on to generate headline grabbing coverage for Bellway for 7 years after that.
We went from strength to strength. Our remit grew over 7 years so that we handled not only national PR but communications for all the south of England divisions of this fast-growing company. We found innovative ways of promoting the company and its new homes attaining coverage not only in the obvious homes and property pages but on TV and radio too. We handled community consultation for Barking Riverside, the largest social and private housing scheme in the UK at the time, and worked with Ministers, local politicians, environmentalists and archaeologists to ensure that Bellway was always in the right place at the right time.
