We worked with the fragrance house Seven Scent on various projects all designed to raise the company’s profile by promoting the brand as an independent fragrance house offering a unique set of capabilities. As a volunteer with Global Hand-washing Day global coalition group, Jo Jacobius came up with the idea of reaching stakeholders, and other business to business audiences using consumer PR techniques.
Global Hand-washing Day is is simple and highly relevant for Seven Scent and its major customer, PZ Cussons as the scheme promotes the benefits of hand-washing with soap which has been proven to reduce the risk of disease and even death as it protects against diarrhoeal diseases, pneumonia and pandemic respiratory diseases.
We persuaded the perfumers at Seven Scent to develop a range of child-friendly handwash fragrance concepts and surveyed children aged 6-11. Cussons kindly came up with wonderful handwash samples using the scents of choco-orange and strawberry shoelaces. We staged an event at the Science Museum with children from 3 schools across London to test whether using handwash fragranced to appeal to them would encourage greater hand-washing. It did! And importantly the story appealed to the media, too.
